Faces of the First
Shipmates,
"Faces of the First" is a photographic display featured on the 8th deck of the First District building in Boston, and online. Faces of the First provides an opportunity to showcase our shipmates and the important work done underway, in the air, and ashore. Photos will be changed quarterly and will feature personnel stationed throughout the district.
We stand the watch,
RDML Dan Abel

Photographers, from beginners to experts, can submit
their images to the First District Public Affairs office via e-mail at
d1publicaffairs@uscg.mil, or
by calling the staff at (617) 223-8515. Images should prominently feature the
faces of crews preparing for or performing the spectrum of missions and
activities performed every day.
Photos should be of the highest resolution possible and unaltered. Each
quarter, the Public Affairs staff will select featured images and notify
personnel and their command if their image is chosen.
The Public Affairs staff will work with the photographer and unit to ensure
the highest quality image is printed for display at the district. In
addition, images will be available for the public, family, and friends to
view on Facebook and Twitter, and at
http://www.uscg.mil/d1. The next images selected will be framed and
posted May 1, 2013.
The Public Affairs staff will convene a panel the second week of the final
month of each quarter to select the featured images. Submissions may
be made at any time; those submissions received prior to the convening will
be considered.
