Personnel Support Department
Base Los Angeles-Long Beach Personnel Support Department issues Coast Guard vehicle decals in accordance with Coast Guard policies and regulations and local policy as required under Commandant Instructions. Our staff provides this service for members of the armed services, retirees and dependents who need to gain access to Coast Guard and DOD facilities.
To avoid delays when applying for your decal, you must first ensure you meet the eligibility requirements and have the following proper documentation WITH you when you come in:
Decal Placement - Unless prohibited by state law (California State does NOT prohibit), the new decal must be permanently attached to the outside of the windshield at TOP CENTER. If you believe you have a valid reason for not placing your decal in this location, you must obtain a waiver from the PSSU San Pedro Personnel Services Branch Officer and keep it in the vehicle to present if questioned.
Expiration Tabs - Are placed to the RIGHT of the decal when looking at the decal from the front. When the tab reaches its expiration date, a new expiration tab can be obtained with you provide the information above and the decal number.
Motorcycle Safety Courses - Are offered through-out Southern California. All of the courses that are taught that are recognized by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) meet the Coast Guard requirement.
