Base Los Angeles-Long Beach is located on Terminal Island between Los Angeles Harbor and Long Beach Harbor in Los Angeles County, California.  The island also hosts canneries, shipyards and a Federal Correctional Institution.  Terminal Island is connected to the mainland via three bridges.  To the west is the Vincent Thomas Bridge (CA-47), connecting Terminal Island to the city of San Pedro.  The Gerald Desmond Bridge (I-710) connects Terminal Island to downtown Long Beach to the east and the Commodore Schuyler F. Heim Bridge (CA-47) joins Terminal Island with the Los Angeles neighborhood of Wilmington to the north.
