Base Ketchikan

Ketchikan, Alaska

Base Ketchikan is the successor in command to BSU Ketchikan and PSSU Ketchikan.

Base Ketchikan was established to horizontally integrate mission support activity and align with operations at the point of service delivery. Base Ketchikan will be responsible for delivering support services within its areas of responsibility.  The Base Commanding Officer will administer and direct all activities of the Base in accordance with DOL direction and the technical direction of Logistics/Service centers.

Bases provide regional support to all Coast Guard units in their area of responsibility (AOR), and also will provide local support to collocated units. Bases will stabilize field support delivery by re-instating local command unity and balancing technical authority and local command authority.
