Education Mission Statement

Base Alameda Education Center at Coast Guard Island provides the highest standard of educational program that will heighten Coast Guard personnel educational opportunities for success in their professional career and as well as their personal lives. The education center also assists CG members with career progression and guides them to achieve their personal goals and strengthen their community.

Education Services Available

• Assessment and Transcript form
• Education Testing Services (ETS)
• Request form for Testing Complete the request form and email it to the Education Service Office email: D11-PF-BaseAla-ESO@uscg.mil .  You will receive a confirmation email from the office to confirm your seat.
• If you would like to learn a foreign language or want to prepare, maintain and improve your language skills, ability and proficiency, click the link below and search for your favorite language. Best of all, it is free http://gloss.dliflc.edu/Default.aspx
• Defense Language Proficiency Test Form

• Closed on Federal Holidays and during Command Sponsored Liberty.
• Drop-ins welcome, service is on a first come, first serve basis.
• Request an appointment for personalized service: phone (510) 437-3946/5846 is the best way to coordinate.

• Tuesdays @ 0800 & 1245: EOCT 3rd, 2nd, 1st Class Petty Officer, EPME 3rd, 1st, and Senior Chief Petty Officer.
• Tuesdays @ 0945: DANTES Standardized Subject Test (DSST)
• Members are required to sign up at least 2 days before the test.  Sign up via email by sending your test request form or phone (510-437-3946).
• Wednesday @ 0800: Private Exams (paper and online) per student’s request: SAT (2^nd Wednesday), ACT (4^th Wednesday) Test can take 4-5 hours.
• Thursday @ 0800 hours: Defense Language Proficiency Test (DLPT) ASVAB/AFCT.
