MUC Stephen Wade

MUC WadeChief Musician Stephen Wade, oboe, received a bachelor's degree from the University of Lowell College of Music and a master's degree from the New England Conservatory of Music. He has studied with Ira Deutsch, Wayne Rapier, David Weber, Stuart Dunkel, Elaine Douvas, John Ferrillo and John Dlouhy. He has performed with the Goldovsky Opera Orchestra, the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra, the Nashua Symphony, Boston Virtuosi, Symphony Pro Musica, Orchestra New England and the Monadnock Festival Orchestra. Mr. Wade has played at both Emmanuel Church and King's Chapel in Boston under Daniel Pinkham, Craig Smith, David Hoose and John Harbison, and he was oboist and English hornist in the American Repertory Theater's production of Handel's Orlando directed by Peter Sellars. Mr. Wade is currently Assistant Principal Oboe of the Hartford Symphony Orchestra and the Connecticut Opera Orchestra, and Principal Oboe of the United States Coast Guard Band.
