Bios

MUCS Joel Flunker

Senior Chief Musician Joel Flunker, formerly of Neenah, Wisconsin, joined the trumpet section of the Coast Guard Band in 1995. MUCS Flunker received a bachelor's degree in music education from Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin and a master's degree in trumpet performance from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. Prior to joining the USCG Band, MUCS Flunker taught instrumental music at the high school and elementary levels in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin.
