SUBJ: INFORMATION SYSTEMS TECHNICIAN (IT) OCCUPATIONAL ANALYSIS (OA)
SURVEY
1. The OA survey is the means to capture and define the current
world of work for the IT rating.
2. All active duty and reserve Information Systems Technicians will
receive an e-mail at the beginning of December containing a link to
the on-line OA survey.  The IT OA survey will stay active for six
weeks.
3. Commands are requested to ensure ample opportunity is given to
their members and all IT personnel are highly encouraged to
participate to ensure data contains a diverse array of billet types
and pay grades.  This input will contribute to the professional
development and readiness of the IT workforce.
4. Data collected from the survey will undergo analysis and then be
categorized into a report for Program Manager use.  The OA report
will be used by the IT Rating Force Master Chief (RFMC) to update the
IT Rating Performance Qualifications (RPQ) during an upcoming Rating
Review.  The revised RPQ will drive development of IT resident
courses and service-wide examination questions.
5. The survey was developed by the FORCECOM Performance Technology
Center (PTC) Occupational Analysis Team in collaboration with the IT
RFMC and a team of IT accomplished performers.
    A. The average completion time is 60 minutes.
    B. The survey is not required to be completed in one session. It
may be saved and resumed at a later time.
