SUBJ: 2013 ANNUAL INSPIRATIONAL LEADERSHIP AWARDS - CALL FOR
NOMINATIONS
1. Nominations are now being accepted for the following Inspirational
Leadership Awards:
     A. CAPT JOHN G. WITHERSPOON (One Active Duty and One Reserve
Coast Guard Officer),
     B. MCPO ANGELA M. MCSHAN (One Active Duty and One Reserve Coast
Guard Chief Petty Officer),
     C. MR. GEORGE R. PUTNAM (Appropriated or Non-Appropriated Coast
Guard Civilian Employee),
     D. CAPT DAVID JARVIS (Active Duty Coast Guard Officer honored by
Navy League), and
     E. SM1 DOUGLAS MUNRO (Active Duty Coast Guard Enlisted Member
honored by Navy League).
2. Each of these awards has different criteria, qualifications, and
nomination procedures. Units considering submitting a nomination
package can find additional information on the guidelines and
eligibility criteria at:

3. The deadline for submitting nominations for the Witherspoon,
McShan, and Putnam Awards is 15 Nov 2012. The deadline for submission
of the Jarvis and Munro Navy League Awards is 28 Dec 2012.
4. The Witherspoon, McShan, and Putnam Awards will be presented at a
distinctive ceremony at Coast Guard Headquarters. COMDT (CG-133) will
fund the travel expenses of each award recipient and one guest.
5. The Jarvis and Munro Awards will be presented at the annual Navy
League National Convention. Hotel accomodations and meals for these
award winners will be fully funded by the Navy League. Transportation
funding will be provided by COMDT (CG-133).
