SUBJ: COMMANDANTS LEADERSHIP, EXCELLENCE AND DIVERSITY (LEAD) COUNCIL
SELECTION ANNOUNCEMENT
A. COMDT COGARD WASHINGTON DC 291542Z JUN 12/ALCOAST 312/12
1. A selection panel convened at Coast Guard Headquarters, Washington
DC on 9 and 10 August 2012, to consider applications for membership
on the LEAD Council.
2. The following Coast Guard members were selected to serve on the
LEAD Council for a 3-year term:
     a. CDR Arex Avanni
     b. SKCS Asdrubal Cruz
     c. LT Scot Druckrey
     d. MK2 Steven Jayne
     e. AMT2 Darrell Linders
     f. AMTCM Kenneth Morris
     g. LTJG Elisha Mueller
     h. BMC Alyson Pulkkinen
     i. MST2 Jamie Testa
     j. Ms. Teddie Thorogood
     k. LCDR Eva Van Camp
     l. OSCS Brett VerHulst
3. Thank you to the 53 shipmates who applied for a position, and
commands that endorsed their efforts for application to the LEAD
Council. Your desire to make a difference in the Coast Guards
workplace climate and diversity management is commendable.
4. Applicants not selected during this panel are encouraged to
reapply for future LEAD Council selection opportunities.
5. The purpose of the Commandants LEAD Council is to enhance
leadership development skills, support the development of a diverse
and inclusive workforce, enhance the workforce environment, and
provide the Commandant with awareness of field concerns throughout
the Coast Guard. New LEAD Council members will be contacted by COMDT
(CG-12B) or COMDT (CG-133) to notify them of future meeting dates,
upcoming workgroups and responsibilities.
