The 9th Annual AcademyWomen Fall Leadership Symposium and Career Coaching Workshop will be held 20-22 September 2012 at the Women In Military Service to America (WIMSA) Memorial in Arlington, VA. AcademyWomen hosts leadership events to inspire, inform, and connect all current, future, and former women military officers from all services regardless of commissioning source. The theme for this years symposium is Igniting the Power and Passion Within. The theme speaks to the diverse range of interests and pursuits that empower and compliment our growth and development as leaders. 2. Attendance is open to all women and men serving in active duty or reserve status and all prospective officers or cadets. COs/OICs are encouraged to support attendance in order to further professional development of command personnel. Senior enlisted (E-7 and above) are also encouraged to attend. Issuance of TDY orders which include registration and workshop fees, transportation and per diem, is authorized. If funding is not available, permissive orders may be issued IAW CH 1.b.11.1 of Ref (A). 3. Symposium attendance information: A. Registration information, including various registration fee amounts, is available at www.academywomen.org. Full general registration is 250.00 dollars for officers and 170.00 dollars for cadets, and enlisted. B. Uniform for all sessions is Tropical Blue. C. Attendees are responsible for making their own lodging accommodations. The WIMSA memorial is easily accessible via metro (Blue Line, Arlington Cemetery stop) and paid parking (cash or credit card) is available at the Arlington National Cemetery visitor center. 4. The Coast Guard Chief Financial Officer COMDT (CG-8), as the USCG Senior financial officer, has reviewed and approved USCG attendance/participation at the 9th Annual AcademyWomen Fall Leadership Symposium and Career Coaching Workshop. This approval authorizes service obligation of appropriated funds for the purpose of attending and supporting participation in the 9th Annual AcademyWomen Fall Leadership Symposium and Career Coaching Workshop.
