SUBJ: SOLICITATION FOR 2013 COAST GUARD RESERVE AWARDS PANEL

1. COMDT (CG-13) solicits volunteers to serve on the 2013 Coast Guard
Reserve Awards Panel. This provides a unique leadership opportunity
to have direct input on award recipients for the Reserve awards and
scholarships administered annually by COMDT (CG-131).
2. The panel consists of one captain (O6), six members, and one
alternate. The alternate will serve as a voting member in the event a
quorum cannot be reached. Selected panel members will be appointed by
COMDT (CG-13) to serve for fiscal year 2013.
3. The panel will convene multiple times during the year based on the
submission schedules for each award or scholarship. The panel may
meet virtually and shall deliberate as deemed necessary by the panel
president.
4. Panel membership is open to all Coast Guard Active duty, Reserve,
Auxiliary, and Civilian personnel. Applicants shall submit a personal
resume and a Coast Guard Memorandum not to exceed two pages,
addressing personal interest in panel membership and reasons for
applying. All applications must have command endorsement and shall be
submitted electronically in PDF format to POC below. Application
deadline is 14 September 2012.
