SUBJ: CHANGES TO ADVANCEMENT REQUIREMENTS FOR YEOMAN FIRST CLASS

1. Yeoman advancement requirements will follow the legacy Performance
Qualification Guide (PQG) and End of Course Test (EOCT) system
through FY13 and will begin transitioning to the Enlisted Rating
Advancement Training System (ERATS) in FY14.
2. The revised YN1 course (Version 0176, Edition 2) is now available
on the CGPortal (https://elearning.uscg.mil/catalog).  Education
Services Officers should order the new YN1 EOCT via the Training and
Academia Customer Care Tracking System (TACCTS).  The revised YN1
course and EOCT align with the latest Record of Enlisted Performance
Qualifications (EPQ)- Yeoman, Form CG-3303C-YN (Rev 10/2008). This
form is available on the CGPortal.
3. Passing the new YN1 EOCT is an eligibility requirement for the May
2013 Active Duty and Oct 2013 Reserve Servicewide Exams (SWE).  Those
Yeomen that have passed a previous YN1 EOCT are required to pass the
new YN1 EOCT before 01FEB2013 in order to compete for the May 2013
SWE.  In accordance with Ref (A), all EPQs for YN1 must be completed
prior to taking the SWE.
