R 141458Z MAY 12 ALCOAST 236/12 COMDTNOTE 5218 SUBJ: DISCONTINUED MAILING OF RESERVE RETIRMENT POINTS STATEMENTS 1. This message announces the discontinued mailing of Reserve Retirement Points Statements. Effective 01 June 2012 the Pay and Personnel Center (PPC) will no longer print and mail Reserve Retirement Points Statements to reservists. 2. Reserve retirement point data have been available in Direct Access (DA) for self service, command and Servicing Personnel Office (SPO) users since 30 September 2010. The DA pages replace the Annual Reserve Retirement Points Statement, which was mailed approximately three months following the end of the reservist's anniversary year. This added feature in DA is an excellent way for reservists to keep track of their account at any time throughout the year. Current Selected Reserve (SELRES) members can also contact their SPO yeoman to obtain a copy of the Points Statement. 3. The Reserve Retirement Points Statement lists all points earned that have been entered into DA during each anniversary year and the cumulative total of the reservists entire military career. Because Reserve retirement eligibility and retired pay are calculated based on the total creditable points earned throughout a reservists career, the Reserve Retirement Points Statement should be reviewed regularly. Reservists who think there is an error in their Reserve Retirement Points Statement should initially contact their SPO for assistance. 4. To view the Reserve Retirement Points Statement in DA, sign-in to DA and use the following path to navigate to the point statement: Self-Service,Employee,View,View Reserve Points. Navigation and reference guides for the View Retirement Points pages are available in the DA Online Help at http://www.uscg.mil/ppc/ps. Guides are available for members using self service, and for command and SPO users. 5. Inquiries may be directed to PPC Customer Care branch (CCB) at 785-339-2200, toll free 1-866-772-8724, via e-mail to ppc-dg-customercare(at)uscg.mil, or by completing the web form at either of the links noted below. Phone support hours of operation are weekdays 0700 to 1600 and 0730 to 1600 (central time) on scheduled weekends. The weekend staffing schedule is available at http://www.uscg.mil/ppc/ccb/ or http://cgweb.ppc.uscg.mil/ccb/. 6. RADM Steven E. Day, Acting Director of Reserve, sends. 7. Internet release authorized.
