MetLife TRICARE Informational Package mailed to all enrolled beneficiaries mid-March 2012. 1. This ALCOAST augments information provided in Ref (A) and Ref (B). 2. Ref (B) included: a. TRICARE Dental Program Benefit Booklet (https://eforms.metlife.com/wcm8/PDFFiles/41073.pdf) b. Cover letter explaining how MetLife would be assuming the TRICARE Dental Program contract as of 1 May 2012 and highlighted the enhanced benefits and reduced premiums. 3. For Alaska beneficiaries: a. Alaska is considered a CONUS location under the TDP. b. Due to issues with the online MetLife provider locator, select a search a radius of 50 miles or greater to ensure nearby providers are not missed. c. MetLife is continuing to add providers to the entire network, particularly in Alaska. 4. If a member cannot locate a provider within 35 miles, contact MetLife at 1-855-638-8371 and MetLife will assist you with scheduling an appointment. If MetLife refers a beneficiary to a non-network provider MetLife will pay the claim for that visit in a manner that limits out-of-pocket costs to approximately what they would be from a network dentist. 5.
