SUBJ: REQUIREMENTS FOR THE CONDUCT OF RESEARCH, TEST AND EVALUATION,
AND SURVEY ACTIVITIES USING HUMAN SUBJECTS
A. Coast Guard Human Research Protection Program, COMDTINST M6500.1

1. No Coast Guard research activities, test and evaluation, and
surveys, involving human subjects are authorized until the provisions
of Ref (A) are met.
2. The COMDT (CG-11) Institutional Review Board (IRB) must review and
approve all research protocols, test and evaluation plans, and
surveys prior to beginning data collection.
