SUBJ: NEW BOATSWAINS MATE THIRD CLASS (BM3) RATING COURSE

1. A new BM3 course (VERSION 0312-03) is available for ordering from
the Coast Guard Institute. This new course is based on the latest
Record of Enlisted Performance Qualifications Boatswain's Mate (BM),
Form CG-3303C-BM (REV 12-2009). This form is available on CG Portal
at https://cgportal.uscg.mil.
2. Completion of the new BM3 course and End of Course Test (EOCT)
will be required for advancement per Ref (A). Those that have already
passed a previous BM3 EOCT are exempted from completing the new
course, however, Boatswains Mates are encouraged to study these
courses to maintain currency. The last day to take the older BM3
(Version 0312-02) EOCT is 01AUG12. To enroll in the new BM3 course,
contact your Education Services Officer (ESO).
