A selection panel convened at Coast Guard Headquarters, Washington DC on 17 January 2013, to consider applications for membership on the LEAD Council. 2. The following Coast Guard members were selected to serve on the LEAD Council for a 3-year term to begin spring 2013: a. GMC Laurie Kennedy b. IS3 Amanda Morton c. Mr. Jose Suarez 3. The following Coast Guard members were selected to serve on the LEAD Council for a 3-year term to begin fall 2013: a. LCDR Peggy Britton b. BMCS William Hollandsworth c. MSTCS Matthew Valenti 4. Thank you to the 53 shipmates who applied for a position, and commands that endorsed their application to the LEAD Council. The selection process was especially challenging due to the large number of applicants for the limited openings. Your desire to make a difference in the Coast Guards workplace climate and diversity management is commendable. 5. Applicants not selected during this panel are encouraged to reapply for future LEAD Council selection opportunities. 6. The purpose of the Commandants LEAD Council is to enhance leadership development skills, support the development of a diverse and inclusive workforce, enhance the workforce environment, and provide the Commandant with awareness of field concerns throughout the Coast Guard. New LEAD Council members will be contacted by a LEAD Council Co-Chair to notify them of their responsibilities. 7.
