R 051631Z MAR 13 ALCOAST 083/13 COMDTNOTE 12920 SUBJ: SELECTION OF DEPUTY ASSISTANT COMMANDANT FOR ACQUISITION AND DIRECTOR OF ACQUISITION SERVICES (CG-9D/CG-92) 1. I am pleased to announce the selection of Ms. Claire M. Grady as the Deputy Assistant Commandant for Acquisition and Director of Acquisition Services, U.S. Coast Guard. In this capacity, under the direction of COMDT (CG-9), Ms. Grady will provide executive-level program management, resource oversight, and strategic planning across the Coast Guards acquisition portfolio, including contracting and acquisition support. 2. Ms. Grady has over 20 years of contracting and acquisition experience, and has been a member of the Senior Executive Service since October 2006. Prior to her selection as COMDT(CG-9D/CG-92), Ms. Grady served as the Senior Procurement Executive/Head of Contracting Activity, responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and controlling the procurement policy and operational contracting programs of the Coast Guard. Her previous experience includes serving as the Director of Strategic Initiatives in the Office of the Chief Procurement Officer for the Department of Homeland Security, Deputy Division Director for Surface Weapon Systems at the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), Contracting Officer for the Navys amphibious assault combat ship, Program Manager for the Navy-wide acquisition of contractor support services (SEAPORT), and Director of Strategic Initiatives for the NAVSEA Contracts Directorate. Ms. Grady has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Trinity University, a Master in Business Administration degree from the University of Maryland, and a Master of Science degree in National Resources Strategy from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces. In 2010, Ms. Grady received the Presidential Rank Award of Meritorious Executive. 3. Ms. Grady assumed the duties of Deputy Assistant Commandant for Acquisition and Director of Acquisition Services on 10 February 2013. 4.
