DHS Under Secretary for Management memo of 30 Jan 13 C. Executive Order 13150, Federal Workforce Transportation D. Commuter Transit Subsidy Benefits Program, COMDTINST 5382.1 (series) 1. The Commuter Transit Subsidy Benefits Program is intended to encourage employees to use mass transit, thereby reducing energy use and the impact on the environment. Reference A recently raised the maximum monthly amount employees can receive for the Commuter Transit Subsidy Benefits Program from 125 dollars to 245 dollars per calendar month. 2. Reference B established the maximum allowable transit benefit subsidy for DHS employees at 245 dollars per calendar month. This rate increase is effective from 1 March 2013 through 31 December 2013. All other aspects of the Commuter Transit Subsidy Benefits Program remain in effect as outlined in references C and D. 3. Mass Transit Subsidy Benefit recipients anticipating eligibility for an increase in their transit benefit subsidy should contact their designated Fare Media Approving Official.
