REFERENCE A ANNOUNCED THE COAST GUARDS COMMITMENT TO BUILDING AND SUSTAINING AN INCLUSIVE AND DIVERSE ORGANIZATION. CHANGING THE DEMOGRAPHICS OF OUR MILITARY WORKFORCE REQUIRES A DEDICATED AND SUSTAINED LEVEL OF ENGAGEMENT AT ALL OUR ACCESSION POINTS AS OUTLINED IN REFERENCE B. FOR OUR OFFICER CORPS, MUCH OF THIS EFFORT BEGINS AT OUR COAST GUARD ACADEMY (CGA) WHERE THE MAJORITY OF OUR OFFICERS ARE ACCESSED. IN SUPPORT OF THEIR EFFORTS IN BUILDING A DIVERSE OFFICER CORPS, AN OPPORTUNITY EXISTS FOR SELECTED RESERVE OFFICERS TO SERVE EXTENDED PERIODS OF ADOS ON AN ANNUAL BASIS IN DEMOGRAPHICALLY IMPORTANT LOCATIONS AROUND THE COUNTRY. WORKING FOR THE CGA DIRECTOR OF ADMISSIONS, THESE OFFICERS WILL HELP RECRUIT CADETS AND BUILD AWARENESS OF THE COAST GUARD AND THE ACADEMY IN CRITICAL RECRUITING AREAS OF OUR NATION. 2. THE ACADEMY RESERVE RECRUITING TEAM WILL CONSIST OF UP TO TEN RESERVE OFFICERS ON ACTIVE DUTY LOCATED AROUND THE COUNTRY WITH ONE COORDINATOR ASSIGNED AT CGA IN NEW LONDON, CT. OUTREACH WILL INCLUDE ENGAGEMENT WITH HIGH SCHOOL COLLEGE FAIRS, CONGRESSIONALLY SPONSORED SERVICE ACADEMY EVENTS, KEY ACADEMY INFLUENCERS, AND WITH PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES. MEMBERS OF THE TEAM WILL SERVE FOR 2-5 YEARS PERFORMING VARIOUS PERIODS OF ADOS (TYPICALLY 3-6 MONTHS) ANNUALLY DURING KEY RECRUITING MONTHS OF THE CALENDAR YEAR (OCT TO APR) IN SUPPORT OF INCREASING THE DIVERSITY OF THE CGA ADMISSIONS POOL. DESIRED MEMBERS OF THIS TEAM ARE THOSE O1 TO O4 OFFICERS LIVING IN THE VICINITY OF THE FOLLOWING CITIES: NEW YORK, CHICAGO, HOUSTON/DALLAS, LOS ANGELES, MIAMI, ATLANTA, MEMPHIS, BALTIMORE, NORFOLK, AND THE NORTHERN VA/WASHINGTON DC AREA. 3. ONE RESERVE OFFICER IS CURRENTLY SERVING ON ACTIVE DUTY AS A PROTOTYPE FOR THIS TEAM.
