The reconstitution of the Pacific Area command and staff was announced in OCT 2011. Ref A authorized further modifications to the area numbered staff organization structure in order to achieve full alignment, at the branch level, between the PACAREA and LANTAREA Operations Divisions. This ALCOAST, in conjunction with a companion LANTAREA ALCOAST, establishes branch level alignment between LANTAREA and PACAREA Operations Divisions. Section titles delineate specific operational activities within each respective branch. 2. The Personnel Division advises the Area Commander of personnel resource management and personnel administration issues and represents the area staff and subordinate units regarding total workforce management issues. As the Area Commanders principle force advisor and subject matter expert, Chief, Personnel Division interprets policy, validates unit level training and mitigates gaps that inhibit force readiness. In addition, PAC-1 serves as the primary point of contact for contingency force management directing mobilization and demobilization of necessary personnel consistent with current policy and procedures to ensure optimal employment of forces to align with operational requirements while balancing risk across standing missions.
