The panel has recessed to consider possible objections based on relevant information not previously available. All input from individual officers was considered as assignments were made. Serious objections to proposed assignments should be sent by message to COMCOGARD PSC ARLINGTON VA//OPM//, info chain of command. Messages will immediately be forwarded to the panel president, RDML Butt. If the issue is so personal that message response is imprudent, an email or phone call to RDML Butt is acceptable for resolution. Leave a message with RDML Butt's office and identify yourself as a USPHS officer. Responses must be received NLT 9 Nov 12. 3. This message constitutes notification for the purpose of requesting voluntary retirement/resignation/release from CG detail IAW USCG and USPHS policies. All eligible officers requesting to exercise retirement/resignation/release options shall notify CG PSC-OPM-2 via email addressed to Michael.S.Fredie(at)USCG.mil NLT 9 Nov 2012. 4. In meeting service needs, some officers may be assigned to billets that may adversely impact promotion consideration during the course of the new assignment. The Office of the Surgeon General has provided assurance that negatively impacted promotion eligible officers will be provided staffing assistance in identifying appropriate promotion eligible billet assignments in other agencies, if desired. USPHS/OCCO and the officer will be responsible for determining suitable reassignment within the Public Health Service. The USCG USPHS liaison/recruiter will discuss additional required action by officers requesting retirement/resignation/release options.
