DHS EDF STAFF MEMBERS WILL PROVIDE FOOD SERVICES TO THE SECRETARY OF HOMELAND SECURTIY AND OTHER SENIOR STAFF MEMBERS. 3. DISCUSSION. A. ASSIGNMENT TO THE DHS EDF IS A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE OUR MOST SENIOR LEADERSHIP AND OFTEN PROVIDES CAREER ENHANCING OPPORTUNITIES. TO BE SUCCESSFUL, CANDIDATES MUST POSSESS OUTSTANDING CULINARY SKILLS AND A TRULY PROFESSIONAL PRESENCE THAT MODELS THE COAST GUARDS CORE VALUES OF HONOR, RESPECT AND DEVOTION TO DUTY. B. DHS EDF DUTY OFFERS TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENTAL EXPERIENCES IN THE FOOD SERVICE SPECIALTY THAT MAY NOT OTHERWISE BE AVAILABLE TO ALL FOOD SERVICE SPECIALISTS. 4. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR CANDIDATES WHO WILL BE TOUR COMPLETE AY 2011 OR AY 2012: A. HAVE DEMONSTRATED ABILITY IN FINANCIAL ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT. B. PRESENTLY SERVING IN PAYGRADE E5 AND HAVE SATISFIED CAREER SEA TIME REQUIREMENT FOR ADVANCEMENT TO THE NEXT HIGHER PAY GRADE. C. POSSESS A SHARP MILITARY APPEARANCE D. BE ELIGIBLE TO OBTAIN A SECRET CLEARANCE. 5. APPLICATION PROCESS.
