To meet its mission requirements concerning illegal trafficking in contraband and illicit materials, the U.S. Coast Guard is continually seeking new technologies and methods for interdicting vessels that do not involve the use of lethal force.

Toward this end, the RDC is currently engaged in developing several new capabilities, including:

a new method for stopping non-compliant go-fast boats
an unambiguous warning device that helps defenders clarify the intent of aircraft, vessels, or persons approaching restricted zones
a TASER-like device adaptable to Coast Guard operational requirements
