Short Range Recovery Helicopter
November 8th marked an historic day for the Coast Guard’s H-65 Short Range Recovery helicopter project at the Aircraft Logistics Center in Elizabeth City, N.C., which received its final H-65C airframe from Coast Guard Air Station North Bend, Ore. Once the final H-65 is upgraded and receives new equipment, the entire SRR fleet will comprise of MH-65Cs and MH-65Ds. A short ceremony was held to commemorate the occasion and mark the beginning of work on the final phase of the H-65 conversion project. U.S. Coast Guard photo.
The Short Range Recovery Helicopter (SRR) will perform search and rescue, law enforcement and homeland security missions.

Status
To date, the Coast Guard has delivered 31 MH-65Ds, which features a new flight navigation system which is common to DOD helicopters and replaces new digital computer displays, embedded GPS and other digital avionics components. The Coast Guard has configured 100 MH-65Cs, which includes the installation of Airborne Use of Force (AUF) equipment kits. Learn more about the SRR project >>

Coast Guard Holds Ceremony in Atlantic City, NJ, to Recognize Helicopter’s Enhanced Capabilities
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — The Coast Guard held a ceremony recognizing the enhanced mission capabilities of the MH-65D Dolphin Short Range Recovery Helicopter fleet on Sept. 16, 2011. The helicopters have been upgraded with a series of overhauls by replacing obsolete components and unsupportable equipment with modern digital systems. Read more>>
