The Government of Mexico purchased four CN235-300M aircraft (similar to the Coast Guard’s HC-144A). On Oct. 1, 2010, the Foreign Military Sales program awarded a $157.9 million contract to EADS North America to produce these aircraft. The Office of International Acquisition is the critical link between the overall U.S. Coast Guard acquisition effort and the international community. Through the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program, the office establishes long-term partnerships and provides allied partners with access to the same assets the Coast Guard uses everyday. The third CN235-300M aircraft was delivered to the Government of Mexico on March 30, 2012, through the FMS program.
The U.S. Coast Guard’s Office of International Acquisition accepted its 300th asset delivery on Feb. 22 through the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program. WASHINGTON—The U.S. Coast Guard transferred two decommissioned 378-foot High Endurance Cutters (WHECs)—ex-Coast Guard Cutters Hamilton and Chase—to the Philippines and Nigeria respectively in separate ceremonies May 13 at Coast Guard Island in Alameda, Calif.
