Assistant Commandant for Acquisition & Chief Acquisition Officer
Rear Admiral John Korn assumed duties as the U.S. Coast Guardʹs Assistant Commandant for Acquisition and Chief Acquisition Officer (CAO) on May 5, 2011, following a two‐year assignment as the serviceʹs Program Executive Officer. As CAO, he directs efforts across all Coast Guard acquisition programs and related procurement management, contracting, and research and development activities to execute the serviceʹs approximately $30 billion acquisition investment portfolio.
Deputy CAO & Director of Acquisition Services
Ms. Claire Grady assumed duties as the Deputy Assistant Commandant for Acquisition and Director of Acquisition Services on Feb. 10, 2013. Previously, Ms. Grady served as the Director of Contracting Procurement and the Coast Guard’s Head of Contracting Activity. In that capacity, she led the development and implementation of procurement policy and operations supporting the diverse portfolio of Coast Guard missions. She also was the principal business advisor to Coast Guard senior leadership and was the community leader for the Coast Guard’s civilian and military procurement professionals.
Director of Acquisition Programs & Program Executive Officer
Rear Admiral Bruce D. Baffer currently serves as the U.S. Coast Guard's Program Executive Officer and Director of Acquisition Programs. His duties include management oversight of all Coast Guard acquisition programs and projects for the modernization and recapitalization of surface, air, command and control, and logistics assets support the Coast Guard's multiple maritime missions.
Deputy Director of Acquisition Programs
Ms. Phan assumed duties as the Coast Guard Deputy Director of Acquisition Programs on Nov. 13, 2007. As Deputy Director, Ms. Phan is responsible for supporting the Coast Guard's Program Executive Officer in overseeing the execution of all Coast Guard major acquisition programs and projects, a $27 billion investment portfolio, which provides for the sustainment, modernization, and recapitalization of surface, air, command and control, and logistics assets for the Coast Guard's multiple maritime missions.
