CONSTRUCTION NOTES - MODIFICATIONS - EQUIPMENT CHANGES & IMPROVEMENTS:
Owned and operated by the Lakes Carriers Association, hence not part of the
USLHS inventory and not numbered as a US lightship. The Lakes Carriers
Associated was reimbursed by the US Government 1901-1910 for operating and
maintaining the vessel)

(1912: Videl Shoal (OH))
(Southeast Shoal was marked by the Canadian Government 1896-1901, then
discontinued. The Lakes Carriers Association considered the location should
be marked and placed the Kewaunee on station, manning and maintaining the
vessel 1901-1910. Operating expenses were reimbursed by the US Government.
In 1910 the Canadian Government assumed responsibility for the station. The
Canadian Government later acquired Kewaunee, using it until 1927)
(Wreck of Joliet and Videl Shoal stations were marked independently by the
Lakes Carriers Association. there is no indication that the US government
recognized, sponsored, or maintained either of these stations)

SUBSEQUENT DISPOSITION: Owned by Lakes Carriers Association 1900-1912, then acquired and used by Canada as a lightship 1912-1927
