Small Boats & Craft
The U.S. Life-Saving Service and Coast Guard have relied on a number of types of small boats and craft to fulfill their core missions since the late-19th Century. From wooden pulling surf-boats launched directly from the beach off a wheeled cart to internal combustion engine-powered life-boats to World War II surplus amphibious landing craft, small boats and craft have and continue to be a critical asset to the Coast Guard.
