NOTE: There are a number of general works on the German submarine warfare along the Atlantic Coast early in World War II, on the Coastal Picket Force, and the Beach Patrol. Most only give a one or two sentence mention of the Coast Guard Auxiliary. For this reason, with the exception of Noble's work, they are not listed. For general background on the history of pleasure boating, contact C. Kay Larson, DVC-AH, 212-724-3534.
