CAPT Todd Sokalzuk currently serves as the Chief of Staff for the Coast Guard Eighth District.
CAPT Sokalzuk is originally from Sunbury, PA and graduated from the Coast Guard Academy in 1985. He served aboard USCGC SHERMAN and MORGENTHAU. He was designated a Naval Aviator in 1989 and is a 2007 graduate of the Air War College.
During his career, CAPT Sokalzuk served as helicopter pilot for Air Stations Clearwater, Savannah, and San Diego and flew as an HH-60J Instructor Pilot at Aviation Training Center Mobile. Other assignments have included the Office of Aviation Management developing resource proposals and managing funding for a variety of aviation programs including the start of the Airborne Use of Force program. CAPT Sokalzuk commanded Air Stations Savannah and Clearwater directing their operations for Hurricanes Katrina, Ike, Gustav and the Haiti Earthquake. His most recent assignment was as Chief of the Office of Budget and Programs leading the development and submission of the Coast Guard’s annual federal budget request.
CAPT Sokalzuk’s military awards include the Legion of Merit, five Meritorious Service Medals, the Air Medal, and two Coast Guard Commendation Medals.
