Welcome Aboard!
Welcome aboard to one of the newest, most advanced ships in the Coast Guard Fleet. At 2000 tons displacement and a top speed of 16 knots, you will find WILLOW very different from most other cutters. Our 40 person crew uses electronic navigation by ECDIS, machinery plant control and monitoring system (MPCMS), dynamic positioning and sophisitcated hydraulics to complete more tasks with fewer people. Our area of operations ranges from the U.S. Canadian border south to Rhode Island Sound and New York Harbor, arguably the most picturesque and challenging in the Coast Guard. Willow is based in Newport, RI which offers many recreational oppurtunities. Newport is noted for its rich maritime tradition, mansions, sailing, beautiful beaches, and abundant shopping.

Medical Facilities
Members and dependents are under the Tricare program. Make sure you are correctly registered in Tricare and DEERS including your new address upon your arrival to WILLOW. The closest medical facility available to Active Duty members in Newport is the Naval Health Clinic New England which is colocated with WILLOW in NAVSTA Newport. Our corpsman will assist you will all prescriptions, appointments, and all other medical matters.
