A unique and versatile group, the Beacons Jazz Nonet is the Coast Guard Band’s newest ensemble
and excels at presenting a wide range of jazz styles and influences, creating exciting new sounds
and ideas through the ensemble and improvisational skills of its nine elite members. This summer’s
“American Heat” Beacons Jazz Nonet concerts will feature a mix of swing, funk, and Latin styles
through the arrangements of Count Basie, Shorty Rogers, Bob Florence, and more. All concerts are
free and open to the public, and no tickets are required.
