In January 2012, the Coast Guard began a new phase of upgrades on a HC-130H prototype by replacing obsolete cockpit equipment with new multi-function displays, along with other structural upgrades. The SELEX radar has been installed on all 22 HC-130Hs and one prototype. Six HC-130J aircraft have been accepted and incorporated into the service’s mission-ready fleet.

The last of the Coast Guard’s 22 HC-130H “Hercules” Long Range Surveillance Aircraft has now been outfitted with a new surface search radar system, marking the completion of the first segment of the aircraft’s recapitalization. Read more>>
