The National Security Cutter (NSC) is the largest and most technically advanced class of cutter in the Coast Guard, with capabilities for maritime homeland security, law enforcement and national defense missions. The NSC will replace the aging 378' High Endurance Hamilton class cutters that have been in service since the 1960s. Learn more about the NSC >>
The third NSC, Stratton, was delivered to the Coast Guard on Sept. 2, 2011 at an "in-commission special" ceremony in Pascagoula, Miss. The contract for the fifth NSC was awarded to Huntington Ingalls Industries on Sept. 9, 2011.
